17th Year in Review
I’ll be completely honest, this post is pretty bad and mostly aimed at future self. You’ve been warned xD
It’s that time of year again, birthday (or as they say, cake day). Nothing exciting about it, as I’m just one year closer to the average life expectancy. Still, this year has been pretty good and interesting, so I thought why not do a little year in review. Yes, not at the end of the year like everyone else does, but who can stop me? This list only includes some non-routine stuff, you know what I mean.
This year, I have:
- Archived Gradience
- Got my first domain
- Created lots of icons
- Became 20% cringier
- Earned $8.71 via Ko-fi
- Changed my logo twice
- Lost my phone and laptop
- Got new phone and laptop
- Rewrote this website in Zola
- Rewrote the Neocities website
- Published 24 posts (including this one)
- Got an alt account on pleroma.envs.net
- Started hating purple and then fell in love again
- Made 3928 commits on Codeberg (I’m very sorry)
- Met even more awesome people (online, of course)
- Started participating in the 100DaysToOffload challenge
- Made 149 contributions on GitHub (whatever that means)
- Posted ~650 posts on main Fediverse account and ~300 on alt
- Refreshed the Amber wallpaper I submitted to GNOME last year
- Ported Distrobox website to Duckquill (yet to be merged/rejected)
- Created the Duckquill theme and submitted it to Zola themes page
- Migrated from mstdn.social to social.treehouse.systems and then to vmst.io
- Worked on myself, I feel like I became less oversharing and annoying, although there’s still a long way to go
- Joined more Discord servers (fandom, if you will. For me it’s quite an achievement, since I’m pretty shy)
Yes, I really spent some time sorting this list to make it look like a staircase.
The flow of time is weird as always, on the one hand it feels like 2023 was a week ago (thanks Google Photos for ruining my mood), on the other hand I look at some of my work/contributions and think, damn, that was forever ago, how come it’s only been a year? Real life flows faster than online, I guess.
That’s all for now. Take care and see you next time!
